Tortellini at Midnight

A$185.00

A winter supper with Emiko Davies
Date: Friday 22nd May 7pm

As the days shorten and Tasmania edges towards winter, we’re delighted to welcome Emiko Davies to The Bowmont for a late-night supper inspired by her book Tortellini at Midnight. An evening of storytelling, good food, and a little gentle escapism.

The tradition behind it is simple and lovely. In the 1950s, Emiko’s nonno-in-law began serving tortellini at midnight to welcome the new year, a ritual that spread through bars in the Tuscan town of Fucecchio. Late, comforting food shared in good company.

We’re going to relive that magic in Tasmania. The fireplace will be crackling, the dining room candlelit.  You’ll sip an aperitivo on arrival, and Emiko will share a little of the history, the families, and kitchens behind the dish, before we sit down at long tables to share a wintry Tuscan feast.

Expect tortellini in brodo, and a seasonal menu shaped in the spirit of Emiko’s Italian home cooking, and a night that leans into the dark rather than fighting it. It won’t quite be midnight… but close enough to count..
